Calling All Art Patrons!

Wilton Art™ is calling all to join in and celebrate our inaugural fundraising auction to help bring public art throughout Wilton Manors. Join us Sunday, February 2, 2020, at 6:00PM for the Closing Bids Party.

We thank everyone who stopped by and viewed this pop-up gallery of one of a kind artwork. All artwork was committed to be purchased in our inaugural silent auction artsquare12x12.2020. This was our first engagement in the fundraising arm of Wilton Art®. We showcased multiple artists in the fundraising exhibition held at the Shoppes of Wilton Manors, Suite 2240 for a five week long salute to art, artists and art patrons.

Wilton Art® hung artsquare12x12.2020 works by established, new and emerging artists side by side to create a wall of art. Bidding started at $125 and increased in $25 increments until the closing party on February 2nd, where winners were announced. All entries were 12” by 12” and started at $125.

Each artist received 50% of the purchase price, and Wilton Art® received a 50% donation to fund future public art projects. (Unless the artist donates their work, then Wilton Art™ would receive the entire bid amount.) The purchaser took home a beautiful one of a kind work of art. Coming later this year, a new public art project will be unveiled partially funded through artsquare12x12.2020.

When Wilton Art® reached out to artists regarding our invitation and “call to artists” to participate in our fundraising silent auction, artsquare12x12.2020, we had great interest.

As our deadlines changed and artists were commissioned for shows and other work, some dropped off. However, we received a call from one artist asking could he submit a work size 11.25” by 12”? The request also included a starting reserve price. Both the size and reserve price was counterintuitive to our “rules” for the 12x12 show.

However, we are not good at saying NO, so this created an extension and expansion of our 12x12 show, for today and future years of different size artworks, some with an artist requested reserve price.

We hold true to the inaugural artsquare12x12.2020 show and remain flexible as a new concept show, the “notquite12x12alternativeshow.2020” was created.

How the shows worked

LOOK: View the artwork and see which art you like. Review the CV binders to learn more about the artist, work, gallery representation, honors and museum shows.

BID: Place your bid in the bid books listed alphabetical by artist’s first name.

RETURN: Come back and check to see if you have been outbid and enter a new bid.

ENJOY: At the close on February 2, 2020, the bids will commense and artworks will be sold to the top bidder.

Enjoy both of the shows. Wilton Art expands to grow us and you, outside our box. Funny how before the first show even launched, we now have a second show.

Thank you to ALL artists. We honor you!

ART up. Here was your chance to start or build your art collection, or engage your new passion for art collecting. The commissions and donations help provide funding for future art exhibitions, public art funding and programming.
