Join us this Fall and explore new “emerging art”, letitrain.2022

What Would Bring You Outside When It Rains?

Wilton Art® in partnership with Funding Arts Broward (FAB!) is pleased to announce a new innovative public art installation in Wilton Manors…that disappears and reappears depending on the weather.

Sidewalks at prominent locations in Wilton Manors become the next canvas for WiltonArt’s® new community-based visual arts project letitrain.2022.

We will enlist local residents, artists, and school children to create stencil designs that will be painted onto high-traffic sidewalks throughout the City. These designs, and others purchased for the project, will be based on the themes of nature, humor, inspiration, and equality that have been the basis of earlier WiltonArt® projects.

What makes letitrain.2022 so unique is that we will be using non-toxic and environmentally-friendly “invisible paint” that only comes to life in the presence of water – that is, the artwork is totally invisible until it rains!  Or when a “splash mob” throws a bucket of water onto the sidewalk!

letitrain.2022 is intended to transform the mindset of a wet day into one filled with joy as the rain art project is sure to brighten the mood of everyone who sees it.

Teams of letitrain.2022 volunteers will begin “painting the town” in early November 2022 creating designs that will last between 3 and 6 months depending on the weather!  Look for installations in the Shoppes at Wilton Manors, Hagen Park, Wilton Elementary School, and City Hall.  See them while they last!
